The Kingdom is power! The Kingdom is now! The Kingdom is the best news you never heard even in church!
The Kingdom of God is not a religion. It is a heavenly invisible government extended to the physical earth realm by sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, friends and servants of the King as they in partnership with the Holy Spirit obey His still small voice in the moment.
Extending the Kingdom requires surrender, vulnerability, losing your life, and seeking the Kingdom first above all else.
Visually it looks like Adam and Eve in partnership with Father God working in the garden in right relationship with God before the fall. The Kingdom increases until all the kingdoms of this world become the Kingdoms of our God.
“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6
The Kingship of Jesus is all through scripture.
It’s easy in our western, “Christian”, democratic worldview to forget that Jesus Christ was a King and what a Kingdom is.
Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a king For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” – John 18
“And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.” –
Jesus like all King want to extend their Kingdom by conquer and acquisition by use of their citizens and army:
“From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” – Matthew 4:17
It is interesting to note what message John the Baptist was preaching in the previous chapter of Matthew:
“In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea 2 and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” John 3:1
And what message did Jesus explain to the disciples immediately after His resurrection?
“He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God”. – Acts 1:3
Finally it is interesting that Jesus did not tell His disciples to preach Jesus, but to preach Kingdom:
“As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.” – Matthew 10:7-8
Jesus, John the Baptist and the early church taught, demonstrated and extended the invisible Kingdom of Heaven on earth in purity and right relationship with God by the power of the Holy Spirit. Why do we not preach and demonstrate the Kingdom? Why do we preach Jesus, born again, salvation, prosperity and healing and every other gospel BUT the Kingdom gospel?
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33
The ONE seed the devil steals is the Kingdom Seed. Jesus Christ Himself IS the Kingdom Seed.
“For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.” – 1 Peter 1:23
This seed is the Kingdom seed that Jesus spoke of in the parable that explains all parables.
“Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. “
